Gilis Island


Gili Trawangan

 Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three small islands or dyke located at the northwest of Lombok. Trawangan is also the only dyke which height above sea level is significant. With a length of 3 km and width of 2 km, Trawangan population of approximately 800 inhabitants. Among the third dyke, Trawangan has facilities for tourists of the most diverse; shop "Tir na Nôg" claiming that Trawangan is the smallest island in the world that there are Irish bars. Is the most densely populated parts of the east island.

 Trawangan has shades of "party" more than Gili Meno and Gili Air, because of the many parties all night every night of the show rotated by some places the crowd. A popular activity for tourists in Trawangan done is scuba diving (PADI certified), snorkeling (northeast coast), kayaking, and surfing. There are also several places for tourists to learn to ride around the island.

 On Gili Trawangan (as well as in two other earthen), there were no motor vehicles, because it is not permitted by local rules. The usual means of transportation are bicycles (rented by local people for the tourists) and Cidomo, simple horse-drawn carriage which are common in Lombok. To travel to and from the third dyke, the residents usually use motorized boats and speedboats.






Gili Meno 

 Gili Meno is one of three small islands, in addition to Gili Trawangan and Gili Air, which became the area of maritime tourism. This place can be reached from Mataram city about 45 minutes driving through the journey overland with the berlatarkan Senggigi Beach scenery stunning beaches and protected forest. Here there is a bird park which has a collection of rare birds from Indonesia and overseas. White sand and unspoiled. Motor vehicles on Gili Meno is very limited, as is the use of electricity.



Gili Air 

 Gili Air is the smallest of the Gilis and it's closest to the Lombok mainland, making it popular with honeymoon couples and travelers seeking a quiet retreat. It has a population of about 1,000 and administratively lies in the West Nusa Tenggara province. The island offers excellent snorkeling and scuba diving off its east coast, and turtles can be seen along the coral reef.
